In NFL News:
The NFL owners approved expanding the postseason to 14 teams (7 from each conference) after the 2020 season.
In the new format, the AFC and NFC Wild Card weekend will feature the 2 seed hosting the 7 seed, the 3 seed hosting the 6 seed and the 4 seed hosting the 5 seed.
The NFL says the schedule release will likely be around May 9 — no later. Plan your calendars.
In NBA News:
The NBA is considering to have all 30 teams finish out the regular season in a single arena without any fans present. 16 teams would qualify for the playoffs, but some of the early rounds may be best-of-5 instead of best-of-7. The 2020-21 season would start at Christmas.
