The Wisconsin Badgers (1-0) opened up their four-game international tour of France with an 81-66 win over Paris Towers today in Paris, France.
Wisconsin’s starting five consisted of Chucky Hepburn, Jordan Davis, Max Klesmit, Tyler Wahl and Steven Crowl, however head coach Greg Gard emphasized that he’ll be tweaking and implementing different lineups throughout the four game trip.
The other lineup that Gard used was Kamari McGee, Isaac Lindsey, Carter Gilmore, Markus Ilver and Chris Hodges, while working in Connor Essegian as well in the two lineups.
UW jumped out to a 15-2 lead in the first five minutes of the game, led by Crowl and Hepburn early.
The one nice thing to see was that Markus Ilver showed some confidence in the first half of the game, which was something he lacked during the 2021-22 season in his limited playing time.
Crowl and Hodges both had several strong finishes during the game. Crowl in the first quarter had back-to-back and-1 finishes and Hodges had a put back dunk off a rebound.
This is a great experience for this team to make this trip and play in these games.
The Badgers will next be in action on Friday, August 12th in Lyon.
