In a game that was delayed five hours due to weather and didn’t conclude until after midnight local time, the Wisconsin Badgers (29-20) softball team shutout the Canisius Golden Griffins (32-18), 3-0, in an elimination game at Katie Seashole Pressly Stadium in the Gainesville Regional. The Badgers are still dancing!

Peyton Bannon got things started for the Badgers with a solo home run in the Bottom of the Fifth inning and Molly Schlosser added some insurance runs with a two RBI double in the Bottom of the Sixth inning.
Gabi Salo got the start for UW and went four strong innings, before Tessa Magnanimo went the next 1 2/3 innings. Star pitcher Maddie Schwartz served as the closer tonight, pitching the final 1 1/3 innings and striking out two batters.

Wisconsin will get a rematch with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (38-17) in another elimination game for UW. First pitch from Gainesville is scheduled for 9:00 AM (Central Time) and will be televised on one of the ESPN stations or ESPN+.
