The Wisconsin Badgers (28-20) fall to the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets (38-16), 2-1, in the Opening Round of the NCAA Tournament in the Gainesville Regional.

Maddie Schwartz pitched a really good ball game and went the distance for UW, allowing six hits and two walks, while allowing two runs (only one of them was an earned run) and striking out two batters.
The Badgers just couldn’t get the offense going. UW’s three hits came from Ellie Hubbard, Lauren Foster and Skylar Sirdashney with Foster getting the lone RBI in the game.
It’s unfortunate to drop this game because it’s always huge to win the first game in these regionals.
Up Next:
The Badgers will play the loser of the Florida vs Canisius game (which will get underway shortly) in an elimination game tomorrow at 4:30 PM (Central Time). TV station is TBA.
