The Milwaukee Bucks handle their rival the Chicago Bulls with ease in a 116-100 victory in Game 5 of the First Round in the 2022 NBA Playoffs. Milwaukee wins the series 4-1 and advances to the Second Round.
It wasn’t too long ago that us Bucks fans were dying for a first round series win, now this feels so casual.
It was a series win and there was no confetti. That goes to show you where the expectations are now for this franchise.
Giannis Antetokounmpo had a heck of a game, finishing with 33 points on 11-of-15 from the field, nine rebounds and three assists in 30 minutes. He was not going to let Milwaukee lose this game and it reminded me a little bit of his performance in Game 6 of the 2021 NBA Finals.
Jrue Holiday had a tough shooting night (4-for-14) and had six turnovers, but he did finish with nine assists and played some really good defense.
Pat Connaughton was great off the bench, finishing with 20 points in 23 minutes and the Fiserv Forum erupted when he nailed a 3-pointer to put Milwaukee ahead 85-61 with 3:48 remaining in the Third Quarter.
Grayson Allen continues to thrive off the bench and finished with 13 points on 5-of-10 from the field, five rebounds, one assist and a steal.
The crowd at Fiserv Forum booed him every time he subbed in, because that’s what Bulls fans did every time he touched the ball at the United Center and he torched the Bulls in those games, and Allen had a smile on his face every time. It was great.
It was fun to witness the Bucks ending their rival’s season.
The Bucks will play the Boston Celtics in the second round. Game 1 is Sunday in Boston at 12:00 PM (Central Time) and will be nationally televised on ABC.
I’ll be posting my thoughts as well as the schedule for that series tomorrow.
