UW-Milwaukee Falls To Yale in Fort Myers Tipoff

The UW-Milwaukee Panthers (1-4) have had a rough go of things since the season opener. This morning they lost to the Yale Bulldogs (4-3), 69-56, inside the Suncoast Credit Union Arena in the Fort Myers Tipoff tournament.

The Panthers shot 22-of-58 (37.9%) from the field, 9-of-23 (39.1%) from 3-point range and just 3-of-5 (60.0%) at the free throw line.

Donovan Newby led UWM with 16 points on 5-of-10 from the field, including 4-of-7 from 3-point range.

DeAndre Gholston finished with 13 points, but had a tough day shooting as he was 5-of-18 from the field.

Joey St. Pierre had a good day, finishing with a double-double, with 10 points on 5-of-6 from the field and 10 rebounds.

A big difference in the game was UWM had 13 turnovers that Yale scored 15 points off the turnovers and Yale only committed six turnovers, which UWM only scored six points off those turnovers.

Pat Baldwin Sr. needs to get it figured out because this team has too much talent and potential to be riding a four-game losing streak and to be 1-4 to start the season.

UWM will welcome Alcorn State (0-4) to UWM Panther Arena on Sunday, November 28th. Tipoff is set for 1:00 PM (Central Time) and be televised on ESPN+.
