Milwaukee Brewers Defeat Atlanta Braves in Game 1 of NLDS

The Milwaukee Brewers take a thrilling Game 1 of the NLDS, 2-1, over the Atlanta Braves tonight at American Family Field.

Orlando Arcia got some big postseason hits for the Brewers, but not today for the Braves. Josh Hader got his old teammate to groundout with the tying run at third base to end the game.

This is how the Brewers are going to have to win, just as they did all regular season, with pitching.

Corbin Burnes put in six good innings, allowing two hits, three walks and had six strikeouts in 91 pitches.

I did feel it was an inning too early to pull Burnes, especially considering the Brewers are without setup man Devin Williams. Burnes got better as the game went along.

Burnes did struggle in the first inning.

Manager Craig Counsell said that the double-play in the first inning was the play of the game and that it gave Burnes life.

This was also the Rowdy Tellez game.

Rowdy Tellez broke a scoreless tie in the bottom of the seventh with a two-run dinger to give the Crew the 2-0 lead.

Omar Narvaez did have a great pick on a low throw from Tellez in the first inning. He also had a great block on a Hader slider with the tying run at third base in the ninth inning.

Up Next:

Brandon Woodruff will get the start for Milwaukee.

Max Fried will get the start for Atlanta.
