Milwaukee Brewers Clinch Postseason Berth After Win Over Chicago Cubs!!!

The Milwaukee Brewers (91-57) take down their I-94 Rival the Chicago Cubs (66-83) for the 11th consecutive time this season by a final of 6-4 tonight at American Family Field.

Fly the L for the 11th consecutive time baby!!! I always love seeing sad Cubs fans walking out of Am Fam Field!

The victory clinched a playoff berth for the fourth consecutive season for the franchise!

Fourth straight playoff appearance for the Crew. I would have laughed at the thought of that six years ago. Oh how times have changed!

This is the earliest that Milwaukee has clinched a playoff berth in franchise history.

Manny Piña wasn’t going to let Milwaukee lose. He went 2-for-3 with a walk and two big home runs.

Piña in his postgame interview vowed that if the Brewers win the World Series, he will go out on the field and sing Hotel California.

In case those of you who are not familiar with this gloriousness, here you go.

Wilson Contreras pimping a game tying home run in the seventh inning for his terrible 66-win team, and then watching the opposing team’s backup catcher hit his second dinger of the night in the eighth inning to bring his team three outs from a playoff berth was a beautiful thing to witness in person.

For Wisconsin sports fans, you understand that 2021 is truly special time. And that’s in the present tense … it’s ongoing.

Up Next:

The Brewers and Cubs will wrap up the season series tomorrow at American Family Field. First pitch is scheduled for 1:10 PM (Central Time).

Eric Lauer (6-5, 3.10 ERA) will start for Milwaukee.

Adrian Sampson (1-2, 2.53 ERA) will start for the Chicago Cubs.
