Milwaukee Brewers Get Big Win Over San Francisco Giants

The Milwaukee Brewers (80-52) get a big road win over the San Francisco Giants (84-47), 3-1, inside Oracle Park tonight.

Boy, I’m glad the Brewers got the win because I would not have been a happy camper staying up past midnight to watch them lose! I used to get excited for late-night West Coast Brewers games but not so much anymore.

Corbin Burnes pitched another outstanding game. He went six innings, allowing one run on four hits while striking out nine batters. His ERA is now 2.27, the second lowest in the big leagues. His 12.2 K/9 is tied with Garrit Cole for the Major League lead.

Kris Bryant on Corbin Burnes: “I thought I was getting away from him coming over here. I’ve seen him twice now.”

Josh Hader picked up his 28th save of the season.

Jace Peterson had a great day at the plate, going 3-for-3 and a walk. He barely missed an RBI in the top of the eighth inning when he hit a ground rule double. If it didn’t go over the fence, Rowdy Tellez would have easily scored from first base.

If you saw Craig Counsell’s reaction in the dugout after the ground rule double went over the fence, I felt and said everything he muttered. Stupid short fence.

The season series between the Brewers and Giants now is tied 2-2 (quite frankly should be 4-0 in favor of the Brewers). If you haven’t watched the four games between these two teams, this absolutely could be a NLCS matchup.

It’s always a a great day when the Brewers beat the Giants.

Up Next:

Game two of the four-game series is tomorrow. First pitch is scheduled for 8:45 PM (Central Time) and will be nationally televised on FS1.

Brandon Woodruff (8-7, 2.38 ERA) will start for Milwaukee.

As far as I know, San Francisco hasn’t announced a starter for tomorrow yet.
