Game 3: Milwaukee Bucks @ Atlanta Hawks

The Milwaukee Bucks and Atlanta Hawks play Game 3 tonight from inside State Farm Arena with the series tied 1-1. Tipoff tonight is scheduled for 7:30 PM (Central Time) and will be televised on TNT.

As I write this, Milwaukee is favored by 5 points, per Bovada.

Giannis Antetokounmpo shot four free throw’s on Friday night and yesterday The Athletic had three articles on how long he takes to shoot free throws? God forbid they cover the Conference Finals and the actual basketball.

I hope The Athletic does a story on Trae Young’s repeated violations of stepping over the free throw line before the ball hits the rim.

I’m so glad I don’t waste my money on The Athletic.

Imagine if illegal screens, lane violations or 3-seconds in the paint got even a third of the attention that Giannis’ free throw routine gets. These little ticky tack rules go uncalled nightly. If you start calling one, you better call them all.

Anyways, back to the game and series at hand.

I heard a fair bit of analysis after Game 2 suggesting that the Bucks had a breakout shooting night, but the numbers aren’t all that impressive.

Milwaukee was 36 percent from 3-point range, but just 4-of-15 (26%) on wide open attempts. Khris Middleton, who’s been brutal the first two games, is 2-for-12 on open threes in the series.

To be fair, 36 percent does feel like a breakout night considering how awful Milwaukee has shot from 3-point range in the playoffs, but considering the shots they are generating against the Hawks defense it feels like there’s a fair bit left in them.

It’s also worth noting that Atlanta has been disastrous from three themselves. Both teams with room for improvement.

Just a side note, today’s the 8-year anniversary of when the Milwaukee Bucks drafted Giannis Antetokounmpo.

Forget the ridiculous narratives, he’s averaging 29/13/5 this postseason as the Milwaukee Bucks try to make the NBA Finals for the first time since 1974. He’s a 2-time MVP and one of the greatest success stories in NBA history.

My Game 3 Prediction:

Milwaukee 115, Atlanta 112.
