The CCS is having their boys and girls basketball season this spring so they can at least have a season, with the regular season wrapping up this week.
LGHS Boy’s Basketball:
Jamon Osby is in his third season (31-33 overall) at the helm of the Wildcats program and in his fifth season overall (58-55 overall) as a varsity head coach.
The boys program is 8-6 overall and 5-5 in League play. They started the season 4-0, but have gone 4-6 since.
Unfortunately, the Wildcats are 0-2 against arch-rival Saratoga Falcons this season, losing 62-46 in Saratoga and then a 60-49 home loss earlier this week.
It’s not good losing to Saratoga, let alone losing twice to them. Those are games you need to win.
The regular season finale will be a home game inside Helm Gym on Friday, May 28, against Gunn (8-10, 7-5). Tipoff is set for 7:45 PM (Pacific Time).
LGHS Girl’s Basketball:
Sara Quilici is in her third season (40-28 overall) in charge of the girls program.
Quilici had a very successful first two seasons, leading the program to the State Playoffs in 2019-20.
So far this season, the Wildcats are 5-7 Overall and 4-6 in League play. The good news is, they beat Saratoga earlier in the season.
The girls program has two regular season games remaining. Friday, May 28, LGHS plays Palo Alto (12-5, 8-2) on the road at 6:15 PM (Pacific Time) before concluding the regular season against rival Saratoga (4-8, 2-8) at home on Saturday, May 29, with tipoff set for 3:00 PM (Pacific Time).
