The UW-Milwaukee Panthers finally had their season opener tonight in Manhattan, Kansas. The Panthers ended up losing to the Kansas State Wildcats by a final of 76-75.
With plenty of transfers and new faces entering the program in the off-season, there was uncertainty on where the offense would come from for the Milwaukee Panthers.
DeAndre Gholston led UWM with 15 points. Grant Coleman added 14, Te’Jon Lucas scores 11 and Josh Thomas chipped in 10 points. Lucas, the leading scorer for the Panthers last season, was just 2-for-10 shooting from the field tonight.
Now that UWM has a game under their belt, I think they’ll be just fine as the season goes along.
UWM will play in Kalamazoo, Michigan on Sunday, December 13, against the Western Michigan Broncos. Tip-off is set for 1:00 PM (CT) and will be televised on ESPN3.
