Milwaukee Bucks Take Down Boston In Restart Opener

The Milwaukee Bucks defeated the Boston Celtics 119-112 in the restart opener on Friday night. Milwaukee’s four-month, three-game losing skid is finally over!!

Giannis Antetokounmpo had 36 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists in 32 minutes to lead the way for the Milwaukee Bucks.

There was high drama in the game. Critical plays, pivotal calls you could see going either way. Giannis doing MVP stuff, Marcus Smart playing awesome, Brook Lopez with a Disney block party, a reignited beef between the Bucks and Celtics. All of this in GAME ONE of the restart. Man, I wasn’t ready for all that.

NBA Referee James Capers comments to a pool reporter after the game:

The Celtics were salty tonight. Marcus Smart after the game says the referees told him the “excuse” the referees told him that the charges was overturned on Giannis Antetokounmpo was because Smart got in the lane late. He said the “real reason” was that they didn’t want Giannis to foul out. “Let’s call a spade a spade,” Smart said.

Jaylen Brown also posted this on his Instagram story:

Giannis was informed of Marcus Smart’s postgame comments about Giannis staying in the game because the refs didn’t want him to foul out, Giannis said that’s his opinion and then went on to praise Smart and speak at length about how much he respects him and his game.
