University of Wisconsin Asks Employees To Take Pay Cut

The University of Wisconsin athletic department announced today it will ask its highest earning employees to voluntarily incur a 15-percent pay reduction over the next six months.

The group includes football head coach Paul Chryst, men’s basketball coach Greg Gard and Director of Athletics Barry Alvarez.

In a related note, UW Chancellor Becky Blank doubts the return to large classes in the Fall. Blank said that the semester will likely be a hybrid of online and in person, saying research shows college-aged people learn better in person.
