The Los Gatos High School Girls Basketball team defeated Sequoia High School in the CCS Division 1 Quarterfinals, 32-31 in overtime.
Sequoia jumped out to a 9-2 lead after one quarter of play, then the Wildcats defense tightened things up and cut the Sequoia lead to 14-11 at intermission.
The Wildcats took a 23-21 entering the final eight minutes of regulation, and held the lead late before Sequoia tied it up to force overtime.
Sequoia scored the first two points until Morgan Burt hit a 3-pointer for LGHS to put the Wildcats up 32-31 and for good.
Olivia Lo led the Wildcats with 12 points, Sabrina Belquist added 9 and Burt scored 6 points.
The thrilling victory put Los Gatos with a 19-7 overall record this season.
Los Gatos will host rival Palo Alto on Thursday, February 27, at 7:00 PM (PT) in the CCS Division 1 playoffs semi-finals.
