The UW-Milwaukee Panthers fell on the road to Detroit Mercy by a final of 79-73. The losing streak has now reached three games for UWM.
This loss is particularly frustrating because UWM dominated the first half where they led by as many as 17 points and took a 48-38 lead into halftime.
Detroit Mercy went on a 28-6 run from the end of the first half until the 11:59 mark of the second half.
UWM tried to fight back into the game, going on an 11-0 run to cut the deficit to 75-73 with 38.9 seconds remaining, but UWM elected to foul despite the differential between the game and shot clocks and the Panthers weren’t able to score the remainder of the game.
The Panthers fall to 12-16 overall and 7-9 in Horizon League play.
The Panthers will play the final two games at home at UWM Panther Arena needing wins to host the first and potentially second round games in the Horizon League Tournament.
UWM will play host to Cleveland State on Thursday. Tip-off is set for 7:00 PM (CT).
