The Wisconsin Badgers softball team defeated Louisville 2-0 this afternoon in day one of the ACC/Big Ten Challenge.
Taylor Johnson, Stephanie Lombardo, Morgan Kummer and Ally Miklesh all went 1-for-3 at the plate today combining for four of UW’s five hits.
Jolie Fish and Lauren Foster each had one RBI contributing to the Badgers’ two runs.
Kaitlyn Mentz threw a complete game shutout, allowing three hits, one walk and five strikeouts. Mentz improves to 4-0 on the season.
Wisconsin improves to 5-1 on the season with the victory. The Badgers will play a doubleheader tomorrow, the first game against Louisville at 12:30 PM (CT) and then against North Carolina at 3:00 PM (CT) tomorrow. The weekend in North Carolina concludes on Sunday with another game against the Tar Heels at 11:30 AM (CT) on Sunday.
