San Jose State falls to rival Fresno State in Overtime

The San Jose State Spartans men’s basketball team finished the second half on a 23-8 run to force overtime, but ended up falling short 84-78.

Seneca Knight once again led SJSU with 23 points, making it three straight games with 20+ points. Knight also grabbed 13 rebounds for his second double-double of the season. Kaison Hammonds had 19 points and Richard Washington added 17 points.

SJSU shot 24-for-75 (32.0%) from the field, 12-of-40 (30.0%) from three-point range and 18-for-22 (81.8%) from the free throw line.

Fresno State’s shooting wasn’t much better, shooting 30-of-76 (39.5%) from the field, 9-of-31 (29.0%) from 3-point range and 15-for-24 (62.5%) from the foul line.

The loss drops San Jose State to 7-18 overall and 3-10 in MWC play.

The only question I have is how much longer will the SJSU administration put up with this? Although, the school president (Mary Papazian) should do the school a favor and step down herself.
