Badgers get a big win over Ohio State

The Wisconsin Badgers Men’s Basketball team defeated Ohio State this afternoon, 70-57, at the Kohl Center. It’s the first regular season sweep of the Buckeyes since 2005.

Brevin Pritzl led UW with 19 points, Aleem Ford led UW with nine rebounds and D’Mitrik Trice had eight assists.

Ohio State head coach Chris Holtmann summed up the day for OSU by saying Wisconsin was simply the tougher team in a lot of areas. Holtmann was not happy with how his team executed and fought.

Greg Gard decided to start Micah Potter over Tyler Wahl today because OSU had Kyle Young back, who missed the first meeting with UW. Gard added that Potter is becoming more comfortable across the board, especially on defense.

Greg Gard, who wasn’t happy with UW’s defense against Minnesota said “I thought they really responded today defensively. That first half, that is some of the best we’ve played on that end of the floor this year.”

The Badgers held Ohio State to 57 points in each game this year. Holding OSU to 40.4% shooting in Columbus and 36.7% today in Madison.

The win puts Wisconsin at 14-10 overall and 7-6 in Big Ten play.

The Badgers are next in action on Saturday, February 15th, when they travel to Lincoln to play Nebraska. Tip-off is at 1:15 PM (CT) and will be aired on Big Ten Network (BTN).
