The intensity was in the building early Friday night at Helm Gym, when the Los Gatos Wildcats girls basketball team hosted arch-rival Saratoga.
After a back and forth first half which saw Los Gatos leading 23-21 at the break, the Wildcats defense stole the show in the second half, limiting the Falcons to 13 total points in the second half.
Senior Sabrina Belquist led Los Gatos with 15 points and Junior Ashley Poshard added 13 points in the 46-34 victory.
The victory puts the Wildcats at 14-6 overall and 5-3 in league play.
The Los Gatos boys team took down a good Mountain View team 49-39 in the final game of the night at Helm Gym.
The boys team improves to 9-11 overall and 2-6 in league play.
