SJSU Men’s & Women’s Basketball teams both get wins over Air Force

The San José State men’s basketball team got a much needed win Saturday when they took down Air Force 90-81 inside the Provident Credit Union Event Center on the SJSU campus.

The Spartans hit a season-tying 13 3-pointers. SJSU shot 29-for-61 (47.5%) from the field and 13-for-30 (43.3%) from beyond the arc and 19-of-24 (79.2%) at the free throw line.

Seneca Knight led the way for SJSU with 20 points and Brae Ivey added 17.

The Spartans improve to 7-14 overall and 3-6 in Mountain West Conference play with the win. SJSU will travel to Boise, Idaho to take on the Boise State Broncos on Wednesday, tip-off is set for 6:00 pm (PT).

The SJSU women’s basketball team won at the Air Force Academy in Colorado on Saturday. It was their fifth win in a row.

Ayzhiana Basallo led the way for the Spartans with 20 points.

The Spartans improved to 14-6 overall and 8-1 in MWC play. It’s the first time that the SJSU Women’s team has been eight games over .500 since the 2004-05 season when they also started 14-6.

The SJSU women’s team will host the Boise State Broncos at 7:00 pm (PT) on Wednesday at the Event Center.
